We want every Florida waterfront owner to be able to use this website.
Our target
We design and test FloridaBulkhead.com against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What we have built in
- Keyboard navigation for menus, forms and interactive tools, with visible focus outlines and a skip-to-content link.
- Brand colors chosen for text contrast; status messages use words and icons, not color alone.
- Labeled form fields, error messages tied to their fields, and live announcements for results.
- Text descriptions for illustrations and maps, and a text list alongside the coverage map.
- Respect for your device’s reduced-motion setting.
Known limitations
- Downloadable PDF summaries are generated in your browser and are not fully tagged for screen readers. The same information is shown on the page before you download.
- Some linked third-party agency websites are outside our control.
